Two mountain biking events are held on the lower slopes of Summit Express or Tiehack lifts. This location hosts the dual slalom event and a very short-but-steep uphill climb. Both are easily visible from the base of the mountain.
Buttermilk is located just 3 miles from Downtown Aspen. It is adjacent to the bike path and a major stop for the free RFTA bus and shuttle routes.
You do not want to miss all of the action and the photo opportunities. It can be great exercise to hike up or even walk down to the day's event and cheer on the participants.

This is a downhill slalom event complete with plenty of turns and jumps.... rather fitting for a World Class ski area with panoramic views. |

| Bike Demo |
|
If you do not want to participate in an organized event, you have the option to get a chairlift pass and go test out the demo bikes at the base area. |
| |
|
|
The chairlift will be operating during the events making it possible for you to watch the excitement from the base area or get a great perspective from up above. Spectator chairlift passes are available on this website by the day or the entire festival. Those interested in riding bikes from the demo fleet must bring your own shoes, pedals, and a driver's license.
